LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — According to sources, John Singleton, film director, screenwriter, and producer best known for directing Boyz n the Hood for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director, has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke.
His condition is unknown at this time, but those familiar with the situation, like lovebscott who broke the story, are asking for prayers for the movie maker.
More recently, Singleton produced films include dramas such as Rosewood (1997) in addition to action films such as Shaft (2000), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), and Four Brothers (2005). He recently co-created the crime drama Snowfall, according to wikipedia.
