NASHVILLE, TN. (THECOUNT) — Baeho “Bobby” Shin, a Nashville music producer, was arrested early Monday morning for allegedly kidnapping and beating his ex-girlfriend.
It is the third time Shin has been arrested on similar charges in a period of less than five months.
Through a Korean interpreter, the victim explained that Shin had taken her head and put it in the toilet and a tub filled with water multiple times, which had caused the knot on the back of her head.
Police were dispatched to a home on Whites Creek Pike after a tip from a third party came in. That person stated they had received a message from the victim, Shin’s ex-girlfriend, indicating that she was in trouble with her boyfriend. The third party also indicated that they believed the victim may have been captured and was being beaten, reports NewsChannel5.
When officers arrived at Shin’s residence, they saw Shin attempting to force the victim into a vehicle inside the garage. However, when Shin saw police approaching, he shut the garage door and took the victim back inside the home.
Officers found Shin in the living room with his hands up.
After searching the home, the victim was located. She was crying inside a bay window storage bench in the upstairs studio of the home.
The victim had multiple bruises on her body and face, along with a knot on the back of her head and swelling around her right eye.
Police say the victim currently has an order of protection against Shin.
Shin was first arrested on November 12, 2018 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. However, this case was later dismissed.
Shin was arrested for the second time after Metro Police officers responded to the assault report at Northcrest Hospital in Springfield.
After this latest incident, Shin is being charged with false imprisonment and aggravated assault. He is currently being held on a $175,000 bond.
