EVANSVILLE, IN. (THECOUNT) — Elijah Parchman has been identified as the man facing multiple charges, including murder, following a shooting Friday night that left one man dead and another injured.
Parchman, 20, has been charged in a deadly incident that occurred in a parking lot in the 600 block of East Virginia Street, near the Seven-Eleven Bar & Grill, in Evansville, Indiana around 9:30 Friday night, according to police.
Police were called to reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers determined there were two shooting victims.
Those victims were transported to area hospital where one victim was pronounced dead.
The other victim is 26-year-old Ikeem Minor and is expected to survive his injuries, reports 14NEWS.
Authorities reportedly received a 911 call from Parchman who admitted to committing the shooting.
Authorities say they don’t believe the victims knew Parchman before Friday night.
Parchman was arrested for murder, attempted murder, criminal recklessness, and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.
He is currently being held at Vanderburgh County Jail with no bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
