HATTIESBURG, MS. (THECOUNT) — Jumarus Daniels of Hattiesburg, Mississippi has been identified as the victim killed during an altercation Friday night in Lamar County.
“JD LocLife” Daniels, 23, was found suffering from gunshot injuries by deputies who had responded to a call of shots fired around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
Investigators determined that Daniels was shot during a fight that broke out between him and another man at an apartment complex at 22 Shears Road, in Hattiesburg.
Daniels was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
About 15 people witnessed the fatal incident, however, they disappeared as deputies arrived on the scene, the sheriff said.
The department is still interviewing witnesses and following up on leads.
A suspect has not been identified, according to HattiesburgAmerican.
