SAN ANTONIO, TX. (THECOUNT) — Mindi Heilbrun has been identified as the Texas woman found stabbed to death inside a south San Antonio residence early Wednesday.

Heilbrun, 40, was discovered by family members who responded to screams and found the victim suffering from stab wounds in a room “covered in blood,” according to family.

The suspect, 27-year-old Joshua Campbell, and the Heilbrun were staying together and were involved in a relationship, according to family members.

According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim was found by BCSO deputies around 5:15 a.m. at a home in the 25300 block of Sandview Road.

When they arrived, they found Heilbrun with multiple stab wounds.

Campbell was detained by family members until deputies arrived.

Heilbrun was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple lacerations.

According to deputies, Campbell lived at the home and Heilbrun was visiting for the night, reports KENS5.

The homeowners are related to the Campbell, who was recently released from prison.
