HASTINGS, MI. (THECOUNT) — The grieving family members of Hastings father and son, 55-year-old Steven Joseph Kennedy and 12-year-old Joseph Steven Kennedy, are asking for prayers and telling others, “don’t take those you love for granted.”

The father and son were killed in a tragic single-vehicle crash east of Hastings Saturday.

The deadly crash happened on Charlton Park Road south of Center Road in Hastings Township Saturday night after the father, for unknown reasons, lost control of his car and collided with a tree, MSP said.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

State police said alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash, WoodTV reported Monday.
