GA Thomasville HS Senior Levi Knop ID’d As Victim In Tuesday Fatal Thomasville Crash

THOMASVILLE, GA. (THECOUNT) — Levi Knop has been identified as the Georgia teen killed in a Tuesday morning wreck in Thomasville.

Knop, a popular senior baseball player at Thomasville High School, was killed in a two-vehicle crash while traveling on US-319 involving another young person.

Anna McBride was operating a vehicle on US-319 when she collided with Knop, who was operating a pickup truck. Knop’s vehicle then exited the roadway and crashed into a tree.

Knop was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

McBride was transported to an local area hospital and treated for minor injuries.

A crash report noted that both teenagers were wearing a seat belt at the time of the violent collision.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

A GoFundMe page was quickly set up in Knop’s honor, with people donating more than $23,000 in just 11 hours. Others left comments on the page praying for his family, reports WCTV.

A candlelight vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Biscuit Company in Thomasville.

Funeral services are also expected to be announced today.
