LA Man Vernon Covington ID’d As Victim In Fatal Wednesday Baton Rouge Shooting

BATON ROUGE, LA. (THECOUNT) — Vernon Covington, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in Baton Rouge, according to authorities.

Covington, 42, was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound on Washington Ave and Bahm St, around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say an argument led up to the fatal shooting but a suspect remains unknown.

Covington was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries, a report said.

The Baton Rouge Police Department identified the victim as Vernon Covington, 42, of Baton Rouge. Investigators reported it happened on Washington Avenue at Bahm Street around 4:30 p.m. source
