MIDDLETOWN, OH. (THECOUNT) — Benny Alvin Barefield has been identified as the victim found slumped behind the wheel of a vehicle in Middletown on Friday night.
Barefield, 48, was found dead inside a vehicle parked on 9th Avenue and Yankee, in Middletown, OH, after police responded Friday night to calls of a man down inside a vehicle.
Police determined that the victim appeared to have been shot by an unknown suspect as he sat inside a vehicle while parked on 9th Avenue.
Barefield was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries, according to a press release from the Middletown Division of Police.
It appeared he had been shot while in his car on 9th Avenue, the report said. source
Investigators did not provided possible suspect or motive information.
