SOUR LAKE, TX. (THECOUNT) — The Beaumont, TX, man killed in a head-on collision Thursday afternoon in Hardin County has been identified as Wesley Coe, of Beaumont, the Department of Public Safety said in an issued statement.
Coe, 55, was traveling as a passenger with family members in a southbound Chevrolet pickup truck on TX-326, near Sour Lake, when for unknown reasons, a northbound Dodge pickup crossed the highway and collided with the Chevrolet.
Wesley Coe was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the violent crash.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Gary Coe, 69, of Beaumont, and his passenger, Matthew Wright, 39, of Silsbee, were transported to area hospitals. They remained hospitalized as of Friday.
The driver of the Dodge, 50-year-old Michael McCaleb, of Kountze, was injured in the crash and transported for treatment. He remained hospitalized late Thursday.
The three occupants of the Chevrolet were related to each other, DPS said. source
This fatal crash remained under investigation, DPS said, and there were no additional details to be released.
