GRETNA, LA. (THECOUNT) — Gretna police Deputy Chief Anthony Christiana has died, according to a Facebook post released on Friday.
Officials with the Gretna Police Department posted Friday that Christiana died after a “valiant battle against cancer.”
Christiana, whose age was not provided, was a 37-year veteran of the Police Department.
“We ask that you please keep him, his family, and all his loved ones in your prayers during this difficult time,” officials said on Facebook. source
Funeral arrangements have not been announced as of this writing.
Gretna is the second-largest city and parish seat of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States. Gretna lies on the west bank of the Mississippi River, just east and across the river from uptown New Orleans.
