OSCEOLA, IA. (THECOUNT) — Bethannie Kennedy and her 2-year-old stepson, Michael Dohrn Jr., both of Osceola, IA, have been identified as the victims in a two-vehicle crash near Osceola Friday night.
The Iowa State Patrol says a pregnant Kennedy and her stepson were traveling southbound on Highway 69 near Osceola around 6:00 pm, when for unknown reasons, she exited her lane and collided head-on with a northbound tractor-trailer, according to reports.
The crash report noted that Kennedy was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Young Dohrn was.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Anyone with possible information on the crash may contact police at 911.
According to Facebook, Kennedy formerly attended Southwestern Community College and before that Clarke Community High School. She was originally from Garden Grove, Iowa, according to her social media page.
