Jet Dragster Kat Moller Killed Thursday During Sebring International Raceway Exhibition

SEBRING, FL. (THECOUNT) — Katarina Moller has been identified as the female jet car dragster racer killed during an exhibition last night at Sebring International Raceway.

“Kat” Moller, 24, was performing an exhibition at Sebring, located at, 113 Midway Dr, in Sebring, FL, during the track’s weekly Thursday night drags, when the fatal incident took place.

The driver was a part of the tight-knit Larsen Motorsports team, a group of men and women who campaign a fleet of jet dragsters all across the country.

As of this morning, details have been hard to verify, so until solid information is made available, we’ll not be repeating any rumors or conjecture. What we do know is that Moller had been a part of the Larsen team for 5 years and was an experienced driver of these high powered exhibition dragsters. The crash occurred during the first of two planned exhibition passes scheduled for the evening.

The crash is under investigation by the Highland County Sheriff’s Office, who has asked for any spectators who happened to be recording the incident please contact them at 863-402-7250.

Kat began racing, as many of the stars of the sport did, in junior dragsters. She began her driving career at the age of 11 in the junior ranks and debuted professionally in 2014. She was a graduate student at Florida Tech, which has worked with teams in the jet dragster world to develop innovations in the sport.

“We knew Kat well and were big fans of her personality and her driving skill,” Sebring general manager Wayne Estes said. “Sebring International Raceway and the entire racing community are heartbroken.” Chris Larsen, CEO of Larsen Motorsports expressed deep sympathy and heartbreak for the Moller family. “Kat has been part of our racing family for 5 years and we cannot begin to express our sorrow,” stated Larsen.
