HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — David Cecich, of Wesley Chapel, FL, has been identified as the bicyclist struck and killed by a vehicle while traveling in East Lake-Orient Park area Sunday.

Cecich, 61, was named as the bicyclist killed while riding on E Hillsborough Ave, and Harney Rd, in the East Lake-Orient Park, FL, Sunday afternoon.

Cecich was struck by the driver of a Dodge vehicle and thrown from his bike.

He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the collision.

A death report also noted that Cecich was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

Charges are said to be pending against the unnamed driver of the Dodge, according to officials.

Troopers said the bicyclist, identified as David Cecich of Wesley Chapel, was traveling eastbound in the westbound bike lane of Hillsborough Ave. when a Dodge traveling westbound changed lanes and collided with the bike. source
