DUPLIN COUNTY, NC (THECOUNT) — Duplin County, North Carolina, Highway Patrol Trooper Benjamin Wallace, has been identified as the officer who died Friday morning following a medical emergency.
Wallace reportedly suffered a “cardiac problem” while off-duty at his residence early Friday morning. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Wallace had been with the Highway Patrol for the past ten years and was assigned to Duplin County.
