NORFOLK, VA. (THECOUNT) — Ashadiya’ Xolani Brooks has been identified as the Norfolk, VA, woman arrested and held without bond, after being charged with the murder of an 18-month-old child who was left in her care.
Brooks, of the 1100 Porter Road, in Norfolk, VA, was arrested on Thursday and charged with second-degree murder in the case.
The child died at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters two days after being found unresponsive at Brooks’ home on Oct. 23 around 12:15 p.m. An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Norfolk determined the child’s death was a homicide, police say. source
