HARTFORD, CT. (THECOUNT) – Josmary Rodriguez, of New Britain, has been identified as the fleeing hit-and-run driver that struck a Hartford school bus full of children Tuesday morning.
Rodriguez, 38, was charged with DUI, reckless driving, evading responsibility with serious physical injury, operating without a license and interfering with police, after crashing into a school bus while fleeing a prior hit-and-run involving a female bicyclist.
The incident, which cause five students to receive minor injuries, occurred between Main St, and Gold St, in Hartford, CT.
Five students on the bus received minor injuries but are expected to be OK. They were transported to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. There’s no word on how many students were aboard. Police said the driver of the car struck a bicyclist and hit the bus while trying to flee. source
Rodriguez was taken in custody and booked on DUI.
The bicyclist was brought to Hartford Hospital in critical condition. Her condition has since been upgraded to “stable.”
