WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, MI. (THECOUNT) — It’s message is written in Arabic and it’s prominently displayed on a billboard at the corner of Pinch Hwy and Lansing Rd, in Windsor Charter Township, MI, overlooking southbound traffic on Interstate 69.
It’s occupied the space since Oct. 1, with no translation or explanation offered.
Turns out, the billboard is part of a 50-state art initiative through For Freedoms, an “anti-partisan” platform aimed at promoting civic engagement, dialogue, equality and direct action through art.
If you’re curious about what it means or why it’s there, good, said the organization and artist responsible for the display. source
Simply translated, creator Jamila El Sahili said the message on the billboard means “human being.”
