WILLISTON, VT. (THECOUNT) — Vermont State Police say Kyle Ebbett, of Essex, died in Lake Iroquois Monday night.
Ebbett, 45, went fishing alone and did not return, according to officials. Officers say they received a call around 7:45 p.m., alerting them that Ebbett went missing.
Police say Ebbett was fishing alone and planned to meet up with a friend. His body was found near the small boat in shallow water.
He had a phone and a life vest.
“So he had all the essentials to make notification if there were issues, so you gotta wonder what was the trigger that set the course of actions,” said Williston Police Chief Patrick Foley. source
Police say an autopsy is pending.
Anyone with possible information on the death is asked to contact police at 911.
