BAKERSFIELD, CA. (THECOUNT) — Popular Bakersfield watering hole, McMurphy’s Irish Pub, has been closed down after a health inspection revealed black mold, live roaches and rodent droppings on the premise.
The pub, located at 14 Monterey St, Bakersfield, CA, scored a dismal 63% on their inspection from Kern County Public Health.
In the health inspection summary, inspectors noted observing black mold inside the ice machine and a buildup of grease around the grill.
They also said they observed live roaches behind the bar, in between the wall and wall unit, as well as rodent droppings in the food service area and on the food contact area.
Inspectors said they did not see a three-compartment sink in the kitchen prep area, which is required for all food facilities. source
It is unclear when the pub will reopen.
