PITTSBURGH, PA. (THECOUNT) — Former DeMatha High School football star player, Marquis Brown, has been identified as the victim who plunged 16 stories to his death from a Duquesne University building in Pittsburgh.
Brown, a junior at Duquesne, lept from a window in Brottier Hall after police arrived at the building in response to a reported disturbance, according to the school.
Duquesne officials said Brown was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma consistent with the fall.
Brown’s former coach at DeMatha tweeted that Brown’s family is mourning his loss on Twitter.

Officials at Duquesne said the school is providing counselors.
The school is planning a memorial service for Sunday evening.
