CENTEREACH, NY. (THECOUNT) — Steven Benjamin, of Elmira, NY, has been identified as the victim killed in a Monday night motorcycle crash in Centereach.
Benjamin, 26, was killed in a crash between a motorcycle and a Jeep, driven by a 17-year-old girl, in Centereach Monday night, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, Benjamin was riding a 2004 KTM motorcycle west on Middle Country Road when he collided with a 2010 Jeep Liberty that had been traveling eastbound on Middle Country Road and was making a left turn onto Eastwood Boulevard at about 8:05 p.m. source
Benjamin was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the crash.
The driver of the Jeep, a unnamed 17-year-old female from Selden, remained at the scene and was uninjured in the collision.
The motorcycle and the Jeep were impounded for safety checks, officials said.
