PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI. (THECOUNT) — Daniel Smith of Belmont, MI, has been identified as the victim killed in a Saturday morning wreck in Kent County.
Smith, 57, was killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning in around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Belmont Ave NE & Van Dam Dr NE, in Plainfield Charter Township, MI, official said.
Authorities say 57-year-old Daniel Smith of Belmont was driving north on Belmont Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle, left the road and crashed into a tree. source
Deputies say Smith succumbed to his injuries shortly after the crash.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unclear if impairment played a role in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
