PENSACOLA, FL. (THECOUNT) — Authorities have identified the driver killed in an overnight crash in Pensacola, Florida, as Michael Crumpton.
“Foxx” Crumpton, 20, was driving a Hyundai Elantra when he ran a red light and crashed into a Chevy Silverado pickup truck at the intersection of E. Fairfield Dr & N Palafox St., in Pensacola, FL.
A sheriff’s deputy was attempting make contact with Crumpton who fled the scene and ran a red light.
An Escambia County, Fl. sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop Michael Crumpton, 20, when Crumpton fled, according to the crash report released by the Florida Highway Patrol. Crumpton, who The crash caused the Elantra to run off the road and go airborne. source
Crumpton was ejected during the violent crash.
He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with a vehicle ejection.
The driver of the Chevy pickup truck and the driver of a second truck, which was also struck, were uninjured in the wreck.
The investigation is ongoing.
