EL DORADO COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — The father of an El Dorado County, Ca., high school senior, who was arrested on a pair of battery charges, one for striking her teacher, is speaking out to local news outlets in an effort to explain his daughter’s actions.
A video of the father, referenced above, can be viewed at the end of the post. But first, here’s a little backstory.
Jo-Ann Butler, a student at Union Mine High School, located on Koki Lane in El Dorado, CA, was arrested on campus following an incident where she can be seen on video, continually knocking a “Make America Great Again” hat off of a fellow student’s head.
Butler, 18, is now facing battery charges for the removal of the student’s Trump swag and for striking her teacher, who was intervening.
Butler can be seen on video getting into a verbal altercation with another student who was donning a red hat with the words “Make America Great Again” on it.
In one section of the video, filmed by a fellow student, Butler can be seen grabbing the hat and throwing it to the ground, an action which prompted the teacher to step in and remove her from the classroom.
After being allowed to return to class, Butler again approached the student and forcefully removed his hat, at which time the teacher can be seen trying to come between the two students.
During the second altercation, the teacher held out his arm to intervene and the student slapped it. That prompted a call to the school resource officer and the student was taken to juvenile hall. source
Following the incident, a defiant Butler appeared on the local news with her father:
“Maybe just wake people up in some type of way, because it’s not cool the environment our classroom is in,” the student said.
The school policy noted that they do allow political expression.
Butler is suspended for a week and faces battery charges.

So sick of the intolerance coming from the left, how is the slogan "Make America Great Again" racist? Its not make America white, make America black or what ever color that floats your boat, its a simple statement about the state of our country with no mention of race. This crap is a direct result of common core education and the indoctrination of naïve kids being brainwashed by school system's across this country and you have to look no further than what is happening on college campuses across this country because by the time these kids get to college they are ripe for the picking and clueless because none of them can think for themselves instead what you get out these kids is what has been drummed into their heads since grade school with most of them wanting to live under a socialist government no clue to what that actually means. Its pretty sad that a lot of these kids actually think Lincoln was a democrat or that the republican party is responsible for the KKK why becasue they have re written history and have no idea what real history is instead you get the same dull talking points written by some nut job liberal and they all spew the same garbage. They are not even required to take a simple civics course something that should be required so they know the basics of how our government works. We need to return to the basics in education because common core has left these kids clueless and dumb and the worse part is these kids will some day have to lead this country while not understanding even the basics on how our government works and why our Constitution is so important, in fact these kids are so brainwashed they want to do away with free speech because words "hurt" never mind the Constitution and "free speech" and one day its going to bite them in the ass. Oh and note to this 18 year old, the last time I looked it was democrats who created the KKK and just about every other hate group out there, oh and as for Lincoln just like Martin Luther King he was a republican too in fact it was republicans who were responsible for freeing the slaves while democrats voted against it, in fact anything to do with those of color and freedom came from republicans not democrats and the only thing that has changed about the party is how well they have brainwashed naïve kids to be robots and clueless, and the last time I looked Trump not only has never said a racist thing but the person who ran against Trump mainly Hillary is one of the most racist ever, it is becasue of Trump that the black community has the lowest unemployment rate in history along with Latino's and women but of course none of this means a thing because according to these naïve kids "its cool to be liberal" never mind how utterly stupid they are.
