JOHNS ISLAND, SC. (THECOUNT) — A body has been located in the area being searched for a Porter-Gaud School student Monday who was reported missing Saturday night.
An official with the Porter-Gaud School confirmed Monday morning that the missing teen was a student there.
At approximately 8 a.m. Monday morning, a body was found in the water near the Limehouse Bridge where crews were looking for a missing 17-year-old who fell from a boat in the area of Limehouse Landing on Saturday night, according to St. Johns Deputy Fire Marshall Rick Anewalt. source
It remains unclear at this time whether the body found Monday morning is that of the missing teenager.
The Limehouse Boat Landing was closed during the search Sunday before reopening to the public. St. John’s fire district stopped their search for the day on Sunday night around 8:15 p.m. and started searching again on Monday morning.
The call came in at 7:50 p.m. on Saturday night, according to Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch said.
