MADERA, CA. (THECOUNT) — Donnie Large Sr. of Clovis, has been identified as the driver who died during a race at the Madera Speedway Saturday night.
Large, 53, may have experienced a medical event while operating his race car, according to reports.
While on lap No. 21, Large possibly suffered a heart attack, collided into the outside wall, into another racer, then into the inside wall. source
Terry Large,Donnie’s brother, says that the family believes that Donnie had a heart attack while participating in a four-man race.
Terry says heart problems run in their family and goes on to say that their sister and father died of heart complications.
Donnie Large died at the hospital a few hours after the crash.
