PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — The search for Charles Bowman, who police say may have killed his wife, Kathleen Bowman, has come to an end.
Officers have captured Charles Bowman just 2 hours north of Salt Lake City, Utah, according to Pearl River County Sheriff David Allision. Officials say he was at a campground when they found and arrested him. source
(ORIGINAL STORY) The charges against Charles Bowman have now been upgraded to first-degree murder after human remains found inside a Pearl River County home proved to be that of his wife, Kathleen Bowman.
Pearl River County Deputy coroner stopped short of issuing a cause of death for the 61-year-old woman, but investigators believe Bowman’s husband is tied to her murder.
Kathleen Bowman’s remains were discovered after the sheriff’s department received a call from concerned family members saying they had not heard from her since Mother’s Day. Deputies went to the home on Owl Hoot Road to do a welfare check, but only found her husband there. They returned later with a search warrant for the home, and Charles Bowman was gone. source
No one has seen Mr. Bowman since his wife went missing.
Bowmans own a white 2006 Nissan Maxima with a handicapped Mississippi tag.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact police at 911.
