RAYTOWN, MO. (THECOUNT) — The man shot at a Raytown, MO., Applebee’s has died after being transported from the scene to an area hospital.
Sammy Holmes, 30, was in his vehicle when he was shot Friday near an Applebee’s restaurant in Raytown.
Raytown police say they received a report of shots fired at 9330 E State Rte 350, Raytown, MO. A witness alerted arriving officers after hearing shots fired in the area Friday.
Sammy Holmes, 30, is believed to have been in his vehicle in the Applebee’s parking lot when gunfire rang out about 6 p.m., Raytown police said Saturday. source
Moments later, officers were called to a Sonic restaurant about a half-mile away on a vehicle crash.
Police then were notified of a black Hyundai that had crashed near the Sonic restaurant down the street from the Applebee’s.
Officers found Holmes lying in the street suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead Saturday.
