Jamar Lee Quinn Jr has been identified as the 3-year-old boy shot in the head in a drive-by shooting in River Rouge early Sunday morning. The lad is in critical condition at an area hospital.
The shooting happened around 2:45 on Campbell Street. The bullet came from the back of the house according to police.
“We were all sleeping and all I heard was pow, pow, pow pow pow, and my baby rolled over, blood everywhere, and it’s sad, we all stay in the same community, we can’t even come together for stuff like this. My baby’s suffering, he’s innocent, and it’s hard, it’s hard for me it’s hard for my family, I can’t do nothing but put it in God’s hands,” Jamar’s mom Danielle Davis said. source
Jamar was hit in the head while sleeping and was transported the hospital. He has been listed in critical condition, his mother says Jamar did have to be intubated and had surgery on his brain. He is currently on life support.
“I could hear every gunshot every single one, I was scared, the last time it was really loud, I got scared. I was afraid maybe some of the gun shots hit our house or the neighbors,” neighbor Roynell Gambrell said.
According to police the shooter is still at large, Jamar’s mother wants answers.
“My family’s suffering, this is my first time experiencing something like this, I just want my son, I want whoever you are, please come forward that’s all I ask.”
