Police say Tucson woman, Barbara Angiolini, was killed after an SUV crashed into a McDonald’s located at Tanque Verde and Kolb around 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
According to TPD, the SUV was traveling northbound on Kolb and as they were turning left onto Tanque Verde, the driver lost control of the SUV, hopped over the left turn median and into the southbound lanes of Grant.
Dugan says the vehicle continued moving, drove over the sidewalk, hit a Angiolini, 54, and crashed through the fence near McDonald’s.
Angiolini was standing on the sidewalk near the intersection and was hit by the car after it lost control. She was pronounced dead at the scene. source
The driver and the passenger were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Three customers inside the restaurant have minor injuries and were not taken to the hospital.
It has been determined that the driver was not impaired, but speed appears to be a factor.
Detectives are actively investigating the incident.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this difficult time.
