FAA: Grand Canyon Tour Helicopter Crashes At Least 7 On Board “Substantial Damage”

A tour helicopter carrying at least seven people has crashed near the Grand Canyon Saturday, according to the FAA.

Allen Kenitzer with the Federal Aviation Administration Officer of Communications said Eurocopter EC130 crashed under unknown circumstances in the Grand Canyon.

According to Kenitzer, local authorities say that at least seven people were on board the helicopter.

The aircraft sustained substantial damage, Kenitzer said.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
