A self-described, “sovereign citizen,” who claims he was saving a woman from being beaten, was then the subject of a police standoff in Ohio.
Lenvil Persinger, 43, of Piqua, Ohio, claims he was simply helping a damsel in distress when he broke into a home and assaulted a man using nunchucks.
According to police, Persinger busted into a neighboring apartment after hearing a boyfriend and girlfriend arguing and assaulted the 26-year-old man in the head with nunchucks. After making contact with Persinger, police said he refused to talk to investigators. source WHIO
Persinger is a “self-identified sovereign citizen,” which means he doesn’t believe laws apply to him and he doesn’t recognize the authority court system, said Piqua Police Chief Bruce Jamison.

Persinger’s featured Facebook photo shows he face affixed to a missing poster.

How does "self-identified sovereign citizen" have anything to do with any of this? He heard a scream for help, he was the only one man enough to do anything! I bet you would see things clearer if it was your daughter or your sister.. Why isn't the boyfriend behind bars?
