An Amtrak train derailed Monday morning in Washington state, causing a train car to spill onto an interstate highway, officials confirmed to Fox News.
The derailment happened on Interstate 5 near Mounts Road in Pierce County, Washington State Department of Transportation tweeted.
Surveillance photo showed a train car spilling onto the road, causing a traffic jam. WSDOT tweeted drivers should expect delays and avoid the area.
It’s unclear if there are any injuries or what caused the derailment.
