Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputies have identified the man involved in a head-on collision as Avery Paulson of Lincoln, Neb. He was 41.
The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m., on Wednesday afternoon after Paulson crossed centerlines and veered into oncoming traffic. Responding police confirmed that one person died in the head on collision.
Paulson was driving a mini van in the eastbound lanes of the highway when for unknown reasons, he veered into the westbound lanes and struck a semi truck head on. The driver of the semi was treated and released on scene. source
The minivan involved in the crash operated by Paulson, may have been fitted for a disabled driver. A visit to his Facebook page shows him pictured seated at several sporting events in a specially fitted wheelchair. TheCount.com can not independently confirm that Paulson is disabled or that the man pictured here is the same man that was involved in the crash.
Oh Thursday, a family member posted to Facebook a solemn photo of Paulson enjoying a meal while interacting with a child. The words “Family” can be seen hanging on the wall in the background.
The accident is still under investigation.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends at this difficult time.
