Young made arrangements to meet with her ex-boyfriend Andre Jones, 24, at a Murfreesboro Pike convenience store so Jones could return items Young left at his apartment. Police said Young brought her boyfriend Azariah Suttles, 21, to the meeting.

Jones brought a friend, 29-year-old Jediah Stovall, with him and got into a fight with Young. After Jones and Stovall left towards Village Trail, Young and Suttles followed them. Shortly after, police believe Young summoned two more vehicles due to the fight at the store earlier. Deangelo Young, 26, was in one of those cars and is recovering at the hospital as of Wednesday night. source

Janesia Young was shot at some point during the gunfire and fell to the ground. Her brother, Denagelo Young, had someone else help him put her into his car.

Police recovered two pistols from the scene.

Montana Alexander shared The Private Ensemble Dance Company’s video featuring Young:

“This is a sad day in the P.E.D.C we have lost one of our most remarkable dancers/lilsister/dancedaughter Janesia Young. I love this girl like blood and she always has had my back when it came to dancing or advice. This Is hurting me so bad, I can’t stop watching this video with HER as the soloist dancer. She graced the stage and her presence was strong. SHE KEPT ME ON MY FEET. I’m so honored to have been apart of her life and I’m praying so hard for her family. Her legacy will forever live thru the P.E.D.C.”
