William Leeds, a doctor at the Pulmonary and Sleep Associates in Topeka, has been named as one of two victims of a plane crash near Billard Airport, in Oakland.
Leeds, 62, of Mission and James Bergman, 55, of Leawood, both died in the crash, according to KHP.
Both were killed when the plane missed the runway at the Philip Billard Municipal Airport and hit the ground at a high rate of speed. The plane landed in a field between the runway and the taxi road to the airport terminal. Both men were wearing seat belts. source
The plane was a fixed-wing multi-engine plane manufactured in 1965.

The crash was reported around 8:30 p.m., Monday. The plane that crashed was registered out of Mission, Kansas, in Johnson County.
