Akeem Nelson has been named as the victim in a Kennett, Missouri, homicide case.
Nelson, 20, was a former SEMO Bulls player. Semo Bulls Basketball staff sent out a Facebook post expressing their condolences:
“We’d ask that all of you keep the family of Akeem Nelson, former SEMO Bulls player in your prayers. There’s no tragedy in life like the death of a child. Life is short, and we should respect every moment of it, by taking no moments for granted. Akeem will be forever missed.”
According to Kennett police, an unidentified man was arrested on charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and tampering with physical evidence.
According to the department, Nelson’s body was located around 11:30 p.m. at a home in the 400-block of Shady Lane.
Nelson was pronounced dead by the Dunklin County Coroner.
