A Big Cottonwood rock climber has died after falling about 100 feet down the canyon. Matt Hearn worked at Utah news station, KUTV, as a marketing specialist.
Hearn, 26, fell while climbing near Storm Mountain Thursday at 8 p.m., said Unified Police.
Officers said witnesses tried to help Hearn after the fall but his injuries were too severe.
Hearn’s duties at the CBS affiliate are listed on his Linkedin page: “Serve as a marketing and advertising consultant for National and Local businesses. Specialize in media sales solutions through TV broadcast and digital advertising. Assist clients through complete sales process and oversee all aspects of advertising on TV and online.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends at this difficult time.
