Authorities say they have recovered a body believed to be that of Tony Jimenez Garcia, the swimmer who disappeared in the water Monday evening in James City County, VA. Officials say the body was found before 5 p.m.
Garcia, 23, was visiting the water along with members of his church group when he entered the water to “cool off.” While swimming out to a sandbar with a relative, Garcia went under and never resurfaced.
Search crews were called to College Creek Beach around 7:15 p.m. Police and Fire had help from the National Park Service, Williamsburg Fire Department, VA Marine Police, US Navy and Coast Guard. h/t
