Faniel told police the gun wasn’t hers and must’ve belonged to someone else. The relationship between the boy and Faniel is unclear.
Police searched the home for other hazards and found a powder which later tested positive for Oxycodone, 9mm ammunition and a scale, according to the arrest report.
Faniel was taken into custody on a single charge of child neglect. She also had a warrant out for her arrest on a charge of petit theft.
