James Adams, 42, and Priscilla Hogston, 41, both from Louisa, KY., died in an accident on May 30, 2016. And now a man and woman are behind bars after they tried to rob the house of their son, who had died on the same day.
Wendell Gibbs, 67, of Louisa, is charged with burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Ruth Sparks, 65, of Louisa is charged with wanton endangerment and burglary.
Deputies say they responded to home on Left Fork of Morgan’s Creek about someone coming into a home and pointing a gun at a juvenile. Deputies found the two at the home which is where Sparks’ son lived who was killed earlier in the day in a motorcycle accident on U.S. 23 near the Marathon Refinery Plant. During the investigation, deputies discovered Sparks went into their son’s home and pointed a rifle at a juvenile. h/t
The juvenile was able to get out of the home and call 911.
Sparks and Gibbs took multiple items from the home, including firearms.
The two were placed in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
