Fedsot Tsopko, was arrested and charged with manslaughter after driving his vehicle into a construction zone and hitting a flagger and 2 construction workers Tuesday, killing one before ending up in a ditch.
Tsopko, 51, was transported to the hospital, treated for injuries sustained in the crash and taken to jail upon his release.
The crash happened on SE 122nd Avenue between Sunnyside Road and Mountain Gate in Happy Valley, Ore., Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.
Investigators said a flagger tried to stop 51-year-old Fedsot Tsopko, who was driving a 1990 Lexus 4D towards the well-marked construction zone. But Tsopko reportedly moved forward, hitting the flagger and driving into the work zone. He then hit 2 construction workers, killing one, deputies said. Tsopko’s car then left the roadway and rolled onto its side in a ditch. He had to be extricated from the car and was then taken to the hospital. Once he was released from the hospital, deputies said he was immediately taken into custody. h/t koin
