Sally Ann Earl-Costello, the Maine woman accused of shooting her husband outside their Readfield home, is a veterinarian and former employee at the Annabessacook Veterinary Clinic, TheCount.com has learned exclusively.
Kennebec County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Earl-Costello’s home just after 1:30 p.m. where upon deputies said Earl-Costello, 61, had shot and seriously wounded her husband, Hugh Costello, 81.
Hugh Costello was taken to Central Maine Medical Center. Deputies said his condition was unknown Thursday morning.
Earl-Costello was taken into custody and charged with elevated aggravated assault. She is being held without bail at the Kennebec County Jail.
The shooting is under investigation.
