Officers say there was some kind of an assault, but said Jake Harris declined to go to the hospital. An officer drove him home, but later Jake Harris realized he had to go to the hospital where he is now in the ICU with a skull fracture. Josh Harris, Jake’s brother, posted a series of Facebook live videos about the situation, that have since gone viral. In the video he names two people from the Spokane area who may have been involved in the assault. Just days after the first video was posted, Spokane police confirmed on Tuesday that Jorel Fultz and Amanda Ritter (aka Crandall) were booked into jail on first degree robbery and assault charges. They were taken into custody by the Spokane Targeted Crimes Unit, who was assisting the Everett Police with the investigation. H/T KHQ
The Targeted Crimes Unit focuses on career criminals who show a propensity toward recidivism as well as gun crimes and other serious offenses.
Folks on social media had well wishes as well as mixed feelings about Harris’ ordeal, some wondering if there was “more to the story.”

It’s sad that these guys didn’t get caught the first time they did this…

Great work by the law-enforcement officers. I wish Jake would get himself cleaned up because there is, no doubt, far more to this story than what has been told. The investigation will reveal how much or how little of a victim Jake was. I hope he can get clean and back out on the Bering Sea. Get well, soon, Jake.
