16 people have lost their lives after a hot air balloon they were traveling caught fire and burned to the ground in Lockhart, Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed the sad news confirming 16 people were killed in the horror crash.
The accident occurred shortly after 7:40 a.m on the 796 Jolly Road.
Authorities arrived on the scene and determined that the basket portion of the hot air balloon had caught fire which then likely spread to the balloon causing the crash.
