BMX Legend Dave Mirra Found Dead Of Apparent Suicide

Sad news as well known and accomplished BMX rider, Dave Mirra, was found dead. He was 41.

Police responded to a call of an apparent suicide around late afternoon in North Carolina Thursday. Mirra was located lifeless with a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to police, Mirra was visiting friends in the area before the incident. He is considered a trailblazer in the BMX world. He is credited with bringing the sport to the city of Greenville, now home to many professional BMX riders. h/t abc7

Mirra is survived by his wife and two children.
