“My dear friends and fans!” Harper, 75, began in a Facebook post on Friday evening. “As always, thank you for your amazing support. I am happy to report I am not, nor have I been, in a coma.”
According to a report, Harper had collapsed backstage after performing Nice Work If You Can Get It in Ogunquit, Maine. The Ogunquit Playhouse’s artistic director Branford T. Kenney confirmed that she had been taken to a local hospital “as a precaution”. h/t people
Valerie Harper fell ill on-set and was rushed to the hospital Wednesday night, now reports say, she has fallen into coma.
Harper, 75, was found unconscious in a backstage area of the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine, where she was performing in a play, “Nice Work If You Can Get It.”
The source also says that despite reports saying Harper was discharged from the hospital on Thursday, she was actually taken via med-vac to a larger hospital for further treatment.
At the time of her hospitalization, the show’s director told crowds, “She wants all of you to know after some fluids and rest, she hopes to be right back here on stage later this week.” However, a source told ET at the time, “It doesn’t look good.” h/t wonderwall
