Dusty Rhodes, aka Virgil Runnels, the WWE Hall of Fame wrestler has passed away. He was 69.
Nicknamed “The American Dream,” Rhodes was a three-time NWA champion, WWE Hall of Famer and spent many years as a trainer and “booker,” or writer, for various organizations. WWE reported Rhodes’ passing on Twitter.
“Runnels became a hero to fans around the world thanks to his work ethic, his impassioned interviews and his indomitable spirit,” a representative for WWE said in a release.
The cause of death has yet to be given.
