A Middle Finger Stunt Calls For Desperate Measures: M.I.A sued by the NFL for $1.5 million
The National Football League (NFL) has secretly on-the-record (if that’s even possible) sued Sri Lankan rapper, M.I.A., for an insulting middle finger stunt she did on national TV while performing with Madonna to “Give Me all your Luvin.”
The lawsuit has been ongoing since the 2012 performance, which will result in a breach of her contract.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) had already served a fine to M.I.A but the NFL is intolerant of her actions that took place that night and is demanding $1.5 billion in damages.
The NFL stated in a complaint filed with the American Arbitration Association how, “This dispute concerns a blatant, intentional and calculated attempt by M.I.A., a musical artist, to garner worldwide publicity and attention for herself by making an offensive gesture to the cameras during the Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show performance.”
M.I.A.’s response to the backlashes you ask? Well, that it’s ludicrous that the NFL and its fans uses their time to persecute her actions all the while ignoring the genocide occurring in her country.
Well, we all know that the NFL’s reputation is much more important than the lost of lives occurring in the political arena. DUH!
The lawsuit comes days after player turn announcer, Terry Bradshaw, dropped the F bomb live on TV.
